Empower Every Worker: At the Confederation of Filipino Workers (CFW), our mission is to empower and protect Filipino workers by advocating for fair labor practices, equitable wages, and safe working environments. We strive to educate our members on their rights, unite them in solidarity, and represent their interests at all levels of decision-making. Through our dedicated efforts, we aim to enhance the welfare and dignity of every worker, ensuring that they are respected as fundamental contributors to our nation's growth and prosperity.
The Confederation of Filipino Workers (CFW) was founded on April 15, 1986, by Efren P. Aranzamendez, known affectionately as Ka EPA. His vision was to create a strong, unified organization that would advocate vigorously for the rights and welfare of Filipino workers across all sectors.
From its inception, CFW has stood as a pillar of strength and solidarity for the labor community, championing fair labor practices, equitable wages, and safe working conditions. Under Ka EPA’s leadership, CFW grew into a formidable force in the labor movement, influencing significant labor reforms and shaping the landscape of labor rights in the Philippines.
Ka EPA’s leadership continued until his passing on May 29, 2019. His legacy of passionate advocacy and commitment to justice was carried forward by his son, Gabriel Aranzamendez, who succeeded him as the National President. Under Gabriel's leadership, CFW has continued to expand its influence, aligning its initiatives with international labor standards and participating in legislative advocacy to ensure that workers' voices are heard at all levels of governance.
The annual National Convention at Aurelings Beach Resort in Pangasinan remains a pivotal event for CFW, bringing together leaders and members from across the country to decide on key policies and elect our national officers. These conventions are a vibrant testament to our democratic values and our commitment to the collective well-being of our members.
As CFW navigates the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, we remain steadfast in our founding mission: to uplift the lives of Filipino workers and contribute to nation-building through proactive labor unionism. Our history is a proud narrative of solidarity, leadership, and the enduring spirit of the Filipino worker.
Join us as we continue to honor the legacy of Ka EPA and forge ahead with renewed commitment to advocacy, unity, and progress.
